Don collaborates with Danny Weiss for the Jazz Club series in Lafayette Indiana. The concert revolves around Jazz and Poetry, Sunday April 10.
The Ensemble Improvisers collaborates with dance for a piece on the University Percussion Group concert April 12 in the Daniel Recital Hall, 8pm at CSULB. I will also be performing with the ensemble.
ASKQUESTIONSLATER, choreography by Rebecca Bryant and music by Don Nichols, is selected for the American College Dance Association’s National Conference at the Kennedy Center in June.
Don is directing a great group of CSULB Percussion Majors in Ensemble Improvisation. Their piece will be performed March 24 in the Daniel Recital Hall 8pm at CSULB. Also on the program will be my Another Border Crossing solo for Tombak.
I am pleased to announce I’m endorsing Dream Cymbals and Gongs. They make a variety of fantastic sounding instruments, and they enthusiastically support artists of all kinds who make interesting music.
I am working with percussionist Ray Dillard on a new duo recording project. We are in the mixing stage and I’m already excited at how it’s sounding. Look for it this fall, and check back here for updates.

-Don creates a sound score for a new work by dancemaker Peter Carpenter. Performances will be at the Dance Center at Columbia College in Chicago October 10, 11 and 12, 2013.
-Don performs with Wild Space Dance Company for their Acts of Wilderness, a site specific work at the Menomonee Valley Three Bridges Park in Milwaukee.
-Don was selected as a resident artist by Music Omi for their 2013 residency
-Don continues his collaborations with Sandra Mathern as he performs live music for her piece Swimming in Green at the Conduit Dance Guest Artist Series in Portland, Oregon in June
